How long is the term of my agreement?
The initial agreement term is typically 3 years, although shorter terms are allowed. After the initial term, the agreement renews on an annual basis.
What is the life expectancy of the logo signs?
The estimated life expectancy of the main service sign panels (blue background) is 15-20 years. Individual logo signs - which are the responsibility of the participating business - typically need to be replaced after 5-7 years, depending upon the materials and inks used in fabrication.
What happens if my logo sign is worn or damaged and needs to be replaced?
The replacement or repair of the main service signs is the responsibility of the Ohio Turnpike Commission. The replacement of any damaged, worn, faded or out-dated logo signs is the responsibility of the advertising business.
What happens when a service sign panel is full?
If the logo sign panel is full and cannot accommodate additional logo signs, qualified new businesses that wish to enroll in the program may "bump" a participating business and take its place on the service sign panel. However, the new business must be closer to the exit than one or more participating businesses AND the participating business(es) must have completed their initial agreement term before they are subject to closer bumping criteria (typically 3 years).
Once I decide to participate in the program, how long does it take before my logo signs are installed?
Subject to weather conditions, road construction, etc., logos signs can typically be installed on existing service signs within 6-8 weeks after receipt of a signed agreement. If new service sign construction is involved, an estimated installation date will be provided based upon the information available at the time the Logo Application & Reservation Form is submitted and approved.
